A/Prof Denny Lie completed his medical undergraduate studies in 1991 from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He went on to complete his general surgical training in 1997; and his Orthopedic specialty training in 2001. From 2001 – 2003, Dr Lie completed his research in Biomechanics at the Imperial College, University of London, UK. After which he completed the Trans-Continental Shoulder Fellowship in both Zurich Switzerland (Balgrist Hospital) and Boston USA (Massachusetts General Hospital). He then returned to practice in the Singapore General Hospital since 2004. His surgical specialty is in all aspects of Shoulder surgery and Sports Knee Surgery.

He is currently the Program Director of SingHealth Orthopedic Residency and is heavily involved in teaching undergraduates, residents and fellows. He is involved in Biomechanics research. His other passion is in Global Orthopedics, bringing musculoskeletal health, trauma care and orthopedic education & training to the region, beyond the borders of Singapore.
