Dr. Mauricio Largacha was born in the city of Bogotá, where he studied at the Javeriana University both in medicine and orthopedics. Later, he underwent special training in shoulder surgery at the Santa Fé Foundation in Bogotá.

In addition, he completed a year of training at prestigious minimally invasive shoulder surgery centers. Among the places where he had his training are the Mayo Clinic, the University of Washington in Seattle and the Center for Sports Medicine in Jackson Mississippi.

Since the end of his training, Dr. Largacha has performed more than 2,500 arthroscopic procedures and more than 200 shoulder replacements.

At present he belongs to the Colombian Orthopedic Society in which he was President of the shoulder and elbow chapter. He himself is a member of the arthroscopy chapter of the same society. Since 2014 Dr. Largacha is part of the American Arthroscopy Society (AANA)

He has a great interest in the academic part, which is reflected in the publications in national and international books and magazines. He is an Associate Instructor of Shoulder Arthroscopy at the prestigious American Arthroscopy Society (AANA) Training Center and a Smith and Nephew Latin American Shoulder Arthroscopy Consultant.
