Dr. Snyder has been instrumental in the development of many new techniques for shoulder arthroscopy and has invented numerous surgical instruments and materials which are used routinely in modern shoulder surgery. He has also been instrumental in many research protocols evaluating various surgical techniques for the shoulder, including rotator cuff repairs, surgery for dislocating shoulders and rotator cuff injuries, and imaging techniques of the shoulder such as ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging studies.

Dr. Snyder founded the International Shoulder Arthroscopy Study Group, is on the Board of Directors of the Arthroscopy Association of North America and is a member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons Association. He travels throughout the world demonstrating surgical techniques and teaching shoulder arthroscopy and reconstructive surgery.
