Tal S. David, M.D. is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in arthroscopic and sports medicine surgery and is certified in both Orthopedic Surgery and Orthopedic Sports Medicine. He practices in San Diego, CA as part of the Synergy Specialists Medical Group and the San Diego Stem Cell Treatment Center.

He is a clinical faculty in the department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UC San Diego and a Faculty Member of the San Diego Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine Fellowship.

As a researcher, Dr. David is part of the research team (MARS study group) that won the prestigious AOSSM 2014 O’Donoghue Award for the best clinical research paper in Sports Medicine.  He has published extensively in peer-review journals on various topics related to Sports Medicine and currently serves on the Board of Editors of the peer-reviewed scientific journals, Orthopedics as well as Annals of Sports Medicine and Research.

He has been involved in the care of the injured athlete for 15 years and has served on the medical staff of various professional sports teams including more than 10 years as an NFL team physician.

Dr. David has published extensively on topics related to orthopaedic surgery, sports medicine and sports injuries. He is the author of the textbook “Arthroscopic Techniques of the Shoulder” and is the editor of the Visual Arthroscopy Series on arthroscopic surgery.

Dr. David received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and completed an orthopaedic sports medicine and arthroscopy fellowship at the renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles, CA.
